Investment Strategy Conference Call (Great Investment Ideas)

FYI

I host an Investment Strategy Conference Call each week. You may find this a useful tool to share investment ideas with your clients. It is effective to show the real need for active management for their investments.

The Fed's New Rules Change the Game

The Feb re-brokered the deal to bailout/merge Bear Stearns with JPMorgan Chase. Yet there are more significant structural changes that have been made to our financial markets. What are the potential longterm impacts of these "New Fed Rules"?

Investment Banks and Hedge Funds will be impacted by the Fed and Treasury new roles in the market. Facilities have been resurrected, the likes of which have not been in place since the Great Depression of the 1930's. Over $500 Billion of liquidity has been injected into the market through Gov't Agencies (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Federal Home Loan Banks).
  • Will their credit trades hold (especially those profitable CDS and MBS hedges)?
  • What are the new rules to recognize the off-balance sheet portfolios (SIV, SPV - offshore entities)?
  • Who really bears the risk of the financial markets - The American Taxpayer?
Millennium Lyon has the answers.
