DIRECTIONS TO THE METROPOLITAN PAVILION

* Driving from Long Island, take the Long Island Expressway (LIE; Route 495) to the Queens Midtown Tunnel. Go straight across 37th Street to 7th Avenue; turn left onto 7th Avenue. Proceed downtown on 7th Avenue to 18th Street; turn left onto 18th Street. Proceed to 125 West 18th Street.

* Driving from New Jersey, Take the George Washington Bridge to the Henry Hudson Parkway South (Downtown-bound). Turn left onto 26th Street. Proceed on 26th Street to 7th Avenue; turn right onto 7th Avenue. Go to 18th Street and turn left; proceed to 125 West 18th Street.

OR

From the Lincoln Tunnel, proceed to 34th Street. On 34th Street, turn right upon 7th Avenue, and continue downtown (south) on 7th Avenue to 18th Street; turn left off 7th Avenue onto 18th Street. Proceed to 125 West 18th Street.

* Driving from Westchester and Upstate New York, Take the West Side Highway/Henry Hudson Parkway South to 26th Street; turn left onto 26th Street. Proceed to 7th Avenue; turn right onto 7th Avenue. You can get to the Metropolitan Pavilion by:

* Subway

On the No. 1 train, get off at the 18th Street stop. Proceed east to 125 West 18th Street.

On the No. 2 or 3 train, get off at the 14th Street stop. Walk uptown (north) to 18th Street and 7th Avenue; turn right onto 18th Street, and proceed west to 125 West 18th Street.

On the A, C, or E train, get off at the 14th Street stop. Walk uptown (north) on 8th Avenue to 18th Street; turn right onto 18th Street and proceed, crossing over 7th Avenue. Proceed to 125 West 18th Street.

On the No. 4, 5, 6, Q, R, N, or W train, get off at the 14th Street stop (Union Square). Walk uptown (north) and west to 18th Street and 6th Avenue. On 18th Street proceed west to 125 West 18th Street.

On the V, F, or L train, get off at the 14th Street stop. Walk uptown (north) on 6th Avenue to 18th Street. Turn left onto 18th Street, and proceed to 125 West 18th Street.

* Air Train - $5 (children under 5 free)

Travel time is 60-90 minutes to midtown Manhattan, a trip from JFK to Jamaica or Howard Beach will average about 12 minutes. Plus 60-75 minutes for the subway to midtown Manhattan. A new light rail service exists: a 1.8-mile loop linking the nine airline terminals (8 minutes to complete the loop) in JFK's Central Terminal Area; a 3.3-mile extension includes stops at airport car rental facilities and an employee/long-term parking lot, terminating at the Howard Beach subway (12 minutes) for the A subway. Or you can take it 3 miles to the Jamaica station for transfers to Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) trains, the E, J, and Z subway lines, and more than a dozen bus lines. Terminal connections are free; service to and from Howard Beach and Jamaica is $5 using a pay-per-ride MetroCard. AirTrain is fully ADA compliant.
